Salone dei Cinquecento, Hall in Palazzo Vecchio, Italy
The Hall of the Five Hundred is the largest room in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
It was built in 1494 by Simone del Pollaiolo, on commission of Savonarola who, after having chased out the Medici, wanted it to be the seat of the Grand Council.
The hall is adorned with large frescoes and statues, making it a significant cultural and historical site.
Today, it's used for municipal meetings and is a major tourist attraction.
Its ceiling is decorated with a series of panels that are a masterpiece of Giorgio Vasari.
