Museo d'arte contemporanea del castello di Rivoli

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Rivoli Castle sits in a hilltop castle with a 140-meter-long art gallery and dedicated exhibition spaces. These rooms present both permanent and rotating art collections.

The castle has been owned by the Savoy family since 1247 and transformed from a military stronghold through renovations in the 1600s into a princely residence. These architectural changes shaped the building's appearance to this day.

The museum displays works from the Arte Povera movement and regularly shows exhibitions of international contemporary artists. These collections offer insight into different artistic currents of modern times.

The museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00, extending to 19:00 on weekends. The entrance sits at the bottom of the hill and the path climbs upward, so comfortable shoes are helpful for the visit.

The Cerruti Collection, added in 2019, contains artworks by Picasso, De Chirico, Kandinsky, Bacon, and Warhol in a separate building. This major addition allows visitors to see world-class works that would otherwise be scattered elsewhere.
