Capo Colonna archaeological site, Ancient Greek temple ruins in Capo Colonna, Italy.

The archaeological site contains a standing Doric column with a capital that measures 8.2 meters in height near the Calabrian coast.

The temple, constructed between 480 and 440 BC, served as the federal treasury of the Italiote League during the 5th century BC.

The sanctuary functioned as a primary worship center for Hera Lacinia, drawing visitors from across the Mediterranean region for religious ceremonies.

The archaeological area includes interpretive panels, a museum with artifacts, and offers views of the Ionian Sea from its coastal position.

Archaeological excavations revealed marble roof tiles and a 6th-century BC dedicatory inscription to Hera, now preserved in private collections in Crotone.
