The steel bridge stretches 227 meters across the Lima River, connecting Mammiano Basso and Popiglio at a height of 36 meters above the riverbed.

Count Vincenzo Douglas Scotti commissioned the construction of this bridge between 1920 and 1923 to provide factory workers with a direct path to their workplace.

The bridge represents the industrial development of Tuscany, marking a period when manufacturing facilities required efficient transportation routes for their workforce.

Visitors can access the bridge throughout the year, crossing a structure that measures 80 centimeters in width and features safety railings on both sides.

Until 1990, this bridge held the record in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest pedestrian suspension bridge worldwide.
