Riserva naturale Pineta di Santa Filomena

The coastal reserve spans 3 kilometers in length and 60 meters in width, featuring maritime pines and Mediterranean vegetation between Pescara and Montesilvano.

The pine forest was planted between 1926 and 1933 to protect agricultural lands from coastal winds, later becoming a protected area in 1977.

The reserve includes educational facilities and a Wildlife Recovery Center that rehabilitates 600 to 700 injured animals each year.

Visitors can access designated picnic areas with tables and benches, while children can enjoy multiple playgrounds throughout the protected space.

The reserve contains one of the last remaining sections of the original coastal pine forest that once extended along the entire Pescara shoreline.
