Convento di Santa Maria dell'Orsoleo

The Convento di Santa Maria dell'Orsoleo is a medieval monastery located about four kilometers from Sant'Arcangelo, featuring preserved frescoes, a cloister, and displays of religious objects. The restored spaces allow visitors to see how the monks once lived and worked within these walls.

The monastery was founded in 1192 and served as the provincial headquarters of the Franciscan Friars Minor until the mid-1800s. This long period of religious activity shaped the building and its surroundings for more than 600 years.
