Kitano-Tenmangu Shrine, Shinto shrine in Kyoto, Japan
Kitano Tenmangū is a Shinto shrine in Kamigyō-ku, Kyoto, Japan.
The shrine was built in 947 to appease the angry spirit of bureaucrat and scholar Sugawara no Michizane.
It is one of the most important shrines across Japan that celebrate Tenjin, the deified form of Michizane.
Every month on the 25th, a flea market is held at the shrine grounds.
