Misawa, Military base city in Aomori Prefecture, Japan

Misawa is a city in Aomori Prefecture sitting on the southern shore of Lake Ogawara with views toward the Pacific Ocean. The town combines residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, and a significant military installation.

The city began as an Imperial Japanese Navy air base in 1941, becoming a strategic center during World War II. After the war, it remained an important military location under new administration.
