Kazuno, City in northeast Akita Prefecture, Japan.

Located in the Hanawa Basin along the Yoneshiro River, Kazuno extends across 707 square kilometers of mountainous terrain with numerous rivers and waterfalls.

The area contains archaeological sites from the Jomon period and burial mounds from the Kofun period, later governed by the Nambu clan during the Edo period.

The city maintains agricultural traditions through the cultivation of diverse fruits including apples, pears, cherries, peaches, blueberries, quince, and prunes in mountain conditions.

The East Japan Railway Company Hanawa Line serves the city with stations at Yuze-Onsen and Kazuno-Hanawa, connecting to the Tohoku Expressway network.

The Oyu Stone Circles within Kazuno represent a Special National Historic Site dating from the Jomon period, displaying ancient architectural arrangements.
