Kenroku-en, located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, is an old private garden that is considered one of the three great gardens of Japan.
Developed from the 1620s to the 1840s by the Maeda clan, it was opened to the public in 1871.
The garden is home to several cultural properties including the oldest fountain in Japan which operates via natural water pressure.
It's open year-round during daylight hours and there are various teahouses where visitors can rest.
