Rikugi-en, Japanese garden in Tokyo
Rikugi-en Gardens is a beautiful and historic park in Bunkyō, Tokyo.
Created by Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu in the Edo period, Rikugi-en Gardens reflects the poetic theme of 'Six Forms of Poetry'.
The garden is designed in the traditional Japanese 'Kaiyū-shiki' style, which encourages peaceful contemplation.
Rikugi-en Gardens is open to the public and offers seasonal tea ceremonies.
Rikugi-en Gardens is one of the few surviving examples of an Edo period 'strolling' garden.
