Nezu, Historic district in Bunkyo, Japan
Nezu forms part of the Yanesen district with narrow streets, wooden houses, small shops, and religious buildings creating a traditional neighborhood pattern.
During the Edo period, this area developed around the Nezu Shrine, established in 1705, and maintained its architectural features through the centuries.
The Nezu district presents multiple art galleries, traditional tea houses, and local craft workshops that continue Japanese cultural practices.
The Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line serves Nezu station, connecting visitors to central Tokyo while providing access to local restaurants and shopping areas.
The Nezu Shrine grounds contain 3,000 azalea bushes in 100 varieties, which create a flowering landscape during the April spring festival.
