Bayap Zoo, Zoological park in Seang Khveang Commune, Cambodia.
Bayap Zoo is a zoological facility in Seang Khveang Commune in Prey Veng Province that houses regional and international animal species for public viewing. The grounds span a large area designed to accommodate different animals in various habitats.
The zoo was founded in 1995 by Senator Nhim Vanda and suffered severe flooding damage in 2010. The facility underwent complete renovation following this disaster before reopening to the public.
The zoo serves as a learning space where Cambodian students and families discover wildlife conservation and animal behavior through guided programs. Visitors experience direct engagement with nature education during their time here.
The zoo is accessible via main roads from surrounding Cambodian population centers and maintains regular visiting hours. Visitors should be prepared for hot and humid conditions and limited shade in some areas.
The facility is operated under the same management as Kampot Zoo in southern Cambodia, creating a connection between two geographically distant zoos. This arrangement allows for the sharing of expertise and possibly animal transfers between the two locations.
