The State Puppet Theatre occupies a four-story building with a traditional facade design and houses multiple performance spaces for various puppet shows.
The theatre started its operations in 1935 with the performance of 'Vor-nakhal chelovekom stal,' directed by S. Lomovskaya with set designs by I. Khodirev.
The theatre maintains a repertoire of Kazakh folklore, traditional tales, and international stories, presenting them through different puppetry techniques and artistic styles.
The venue provides guided tours, educational programs, and special performances for different age groups, with shows scheduled throughout the week.
The theatre features a collection of handcrafted puppets representing characters from Central Asian mythology and traditional Kazakh storytelling.
