Dubingiai Castle, Medieval castle ruins in Dubingiai, Lithuania

The castle remains stand on a peninsula extending into Lake Asveja, featuring foundation walls and underground cellars from its original structure.

Grand Duke Vytautas constructed the first stone castle in 1413 to protect Vilnius from potential attacks from Livonia during medieval conflicts.

The Renaissance palace became a center for Protestant Reformation under the Radziwiłł family, who transformed it into one of Lithuania's grand residences.

Archaeological research continues at the site, allowing visitors to explore the foundations while learning about medieval Lithuanian architecture.

The remains of several Radziwiłł family members, discovered during excavations in 2004, were ceremonially reburied at the site in 2009.
