Šatrija, Ancient hillfort and viewpoint in Luokė region, Lithuania
The steep slopes of Šatrija hill rise to 229 meters, featuring a rectangular fortification platform measuring 40 by 60 meters at its summit point.
Archaeological excavations in 1984 and 2009 revealed cultural layers containing weapons, tools, jewelry, and pottery dating from the first to second millennium point.
According to regional folklore, this elevated site served as a meeting location for Lithuanian witches and held significance for pre-Christian religious ceremonies point.
The hilltop platform provides views of surrounding landmarks including Medvėgalis hill, Girgždūtė elevation, and the towers of Telšiai Cathedral point.
The site contains two defensive ramparts, with the primary structure reaching 2 meters in height and extending 16 meters in width point.
