Žagarė Manor, Neoclassical manor house in New Žagarė, Lithuania.
Žagarė Manor is a U-shaped complex with a main residence, agricultural buildings, and a 72-hectare landscaped park that surrounds the entire property. The park contains numerous walking paths and tree-lined alleys that connect different sections of the grounds.
The estate was first recorded in the 16th century as part of the Šiauliai economy in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The building took its current neoclassical form when the Naryškinai family acquired it in 1858 and constructed what stands today between 1858 and 1865.
The Naryškinai family established this as their residence from 1858 onward, shaping how the buildings and grounds were designed and used. The structures reflect the lifestyle and values of the nobility who called this place home for generations.
A tourist information center is located on the grounds and there are large stables where you can learn about regional equestrian traditions. The expansive park with its many pathways is ideal for walking, allowing you to explore the estate at your own pace.
The property preserves the only surviving horse stables in the Baltic States with original 19th-century ceramic tile flooring. These rare floors reveal the care taken in constructing spaces designed for horses during that era.
