Pădurea Domnească, Nature reserve in Glodeni District, Moldova.
The reserve stretches over 6,032 hectares along the Prut River, containing floodplain forests, swamps, and diverse plant communities at 40-60 meters elevation.
Established in 1993, the reserve introduced European bison from Polish national parks in 2005, starting with three individuals to rebuild the extinct population.
The reserve functions as a scientific research center where specialists study and monitor rare plant species, mammals, and bird populations in their natural environment.
Visitors can access hiking trails connecting natural landmarks, including Cheile Buteşti gorge and Stînca Mare limestone formation, with entrance fees of 50 lei for adults.
The protected area contains oak trees reaching 35 meters in height and ages between 200-300 years, providing habitat for 49 mammal species and 150 bird species.
