Hasselholt Castle, Renaissance castle in Ohé en Laak, Netherlands
The castle structure combines marlstone and brick construction, featuring late Gothic archways and stepped gables from the mid-16th century architectural period.
Built in 1548 by nobleman Lodewijk van der Horst, the castle underwent changes when the Van Laar family adapted it for agricultural purposes in 1760.
The castle's local name, Kestieël 't Gäötje in Limburg dialect, reflects the regional language heritage of the Netherlands-German border region.
The castle remains privately inhabited, and visitors can only view the exterior by taking the road from Echt across the Julianakanaal toward Stevensweert.
An octagonal stair tower with a shingled spire contains a 16th-century staircase and connects to rooms featuring composite beam layers with stucco decorations.
