Asker, Former municipality in Akershus, Norway
Asker is a former municipality on the western shore of the Oslofjord, roughly 20 kilometers (12 miles) southwest of Oslo. The area features coastal paths, beaches, and an extended shoreline along the fjord.
The area was established as a parish during medieval times and officially became a municipality in 1838. In 2020, it merged with Røyken and Hurum to form the new municipality of Greater Asker.
