Tune stone, Norse runestone at Historical Museum and Tune Church, Norway

The Tune stone displays inscriptions on both sides, with Side A containing two lines and Side B featuring three lines of ancient text.

Discovered in 1627 within the church yard wall of Tune Church in Østfold, this stone dates back to approximately 200-450 AD.

The inscriptions commemorate Woduride and mention three daughters who organized funeral ceremonies, reflecting Norse burial and inheritance customs.

Visitors can examine this early medieval artifact at the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History in Oslo, which maintains regular viewing hours.

The stone features text written in boustrophedon style, where lines alternate direction, allowing reading from left to right and right to left.
