Lierne National Park

The park extends across mountains, marshes, and lakes, forming a continuous natural area with adjacent protected regions in Sweden.

Established in December 2004, Lierne National Park preserves landscapes shaped by the last Ice Age, including thick moraine deposits and ridge formations.

The visitor center, opened in 2006, provides educational programs for schools and kindergartens to connect with the local ecosystem through guided activities.

The park features an extensive network of trails for hiking in summer and cross-country skiing in winter, with designated camping areas throughout.

The park contains valuable wetland areas where tall birch forests and willow thickets create rich habitats at the intersection of mountains and lowlands.
