Nitedals Krudtværk, Gunpowder factory in Nittedal, Norway.
The industrial complex contained nearly 200 buildings spread across a narrow valley, with specialized facilities for processing and storing explosive materials.
Engineer Georg Frølich established the factory in 1882, purchasing 435 acres of land from Bjertnes and Mo farms to start black powder production.
The factory shaped the local community through its workforce of 16 to 50 workers, contributing to industrial development in the Nittedal region.
The facility manufactured black powder for whaling operations, military ammunition, and civilian purposes until its closure in 1978.
Throughout its operation, 17 workers lost their lives in accidents, with the most severe incident occurring in May 1919, claiming seven lives.
