Løvstakken

Løvstakken rises 477 meters above sea level between the valleys of Fyllingsdalen and Bergensdalen on the Bergen Peninsula. The summit provides sweeping views across the surrounding region and connects to a network of marked hiking routes.

The mountain neighborhood of Løvstakksiden was once an independent borough of Bergen before merging with Årstad and Fyllingsdalen during a municipal reorganization. This administrative change reshaped how the surrounding area developed over recent decades.

This peak forms part of the Seven Mountains that shape Bergen's landscape, serving as a gathering place where local residents spend their leisure time. The neighborhood communities use the surrounding trails and slopes regularly for walking and outdoor activities.

Multiple marked trails lead to the summit, with the main route starting from Danmarksplass near Ny Krohnborg school and mixing gravel paths with other segments. Sturdy footwear is recommended since the terrain varies along the way.

The summit features Bergen's largest stone cairn, which stands as a notable landmark above the terrain. A wooden footbridge spanning 383 meters was completed in 2024 to enhance the Løvstien trail network and open new walking possibilities.
