Kongens utsikt

The observation platform of Kongens utsikt stands at 487 meters above sea level, presenting views of Ringerike, Hole, and distant mountains like Gaustadtoppen.

King Karl Johan's visit to this location in 1832 led to its naming as Kongens utsikt, followed by the construction of a wooden platform for public access.

The stone platform with railings and benches, built in 1880, replaced the original wooden structure and continues to serve as a gathering point for nature observers.

Visitors can reach Kongens utsikt through a 5.8-kilometer hiking trail from Krokkleiva, with an elevation gain of 369 meters during a three-hour round trip.

The location features three distinct viewing spots: the King's View, the Queen's View near Kleivstua, and the Crown Prince's View at 395 meters elevation.
