Tengboche Monastery is the largest gompa in the Khumbu region of Nepal.
Established in 1916, Tengboche Monastery has been a spiritual hub for the Sherpas of Khumbu.
The monastery is renowned for its annual Mani Rimdu festival, featuring masked dances and displays of sacred relics.
Located on the trekking route to Mount Everest base camp, Tengboche Monastery is accessible via a steep climb from Namche Bazaar.
Notably, it's the place where most climbers for Mt. Everest receive a blessing before their attempts.
