Sharada Peeth, Ancient Hindu temple in Pakistan
Sharada Peeth is an abandoned Hindu temple and ancient centre of learning located in present-day Azad Kashmir, Pakistan.
The temple was one of the foremost temple universities of the Indian subcontinent in its heyday.
It is considered one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas, or significant shrines dedicated to the goddess Shakti, in the Shakta tradition.
Despite being in a dilapidated condition, it still attracts tourists and pilgrims.
Sharada Peeth is one of the three oldest and most revered temples of Sarasvati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge and wisdom.
