Bolko oak, Monument oak tree in Hniszów, Poland
The Bolko oak stands 28 meters tall with a trunk circumference of 8.6 meters in a former estate park in southeastern Poland.
During his campaign to Kiev in 1018, King Boleslaw Chrobry took rest under the branches of this oak tree in Hniszów.
The tree received 23,313 votes to earn the title of Polish Tree of the Year in 2016 and placed fourth in the European competition.
The oak tree location coordinates are N 51°15'30.6'', E 23°41'46.2'' in the Ruda Huta municipality of Lublin Voivodeship.
The annual name day celebration called Bolkowanie brings thousands of people together at this thousand-year-old natural monument.
