St. Florian's Gate, Medieval city gate in Old Town, Poland.
The Gothic structure rises 34.5 meters high with a Baroque metal dome and features carved stone decorations on both north and south faces.
Built in 1307 as part of Krakow's defenses after a Tatar attack, it stands as the last remaining gate from eight original medieval entrances.
The gate marks the start of the Royal Route, where Polish kings and dignitaries entered the city on their way to Wawel Castle.
Located at the northern end of Florianska Street, the gate remains open all hours and connects to the adjacent defensive walls.
A narrow gauge tram passed through this gate from 1901 to 1953, with conductors manually retracting the pantograph at each crossing.
