Kacze Łęgi, Nature reserve in Gdynia, Poland.
Kacze Łęgi encompasses 8.97 hectares of riparian forest along the Kacza River valley, featuring numerous monumental trees and diverse vegetation species.
The Polish Ministry of Forestry and Timber Industry established Kacze Łęgi as a protected nature reserve in 1983 to preserve the natural river valley ecosystem.
The reserve contains 210 vascular plant species, including mountain-foothill plants that reflect the regional natural heritage of northern Poland.
Visitors can enter the reserve through access points from the residential districts of Witomino, Karwiny, and Mały Kack in Gdynia.
The reserve protects a specific type of elm forest called Ficario-Ulmetum, with black alder and common ash trees along a meandering stream section.
