Twierdza Grudziądz

Twierdza Grudziądz is an extensive military fortress in the city of Grudziądz, comprising multiple interconnected fortified structures, bastions, and earthen ramparts. The complex spreads across several hills within the urban area and features neoclassical defensive architecture with thick walls and geometric bastions.

The fortress was built in the 1770s under Prussian rule to secure control over the Vistula crossing and protect regional interests. It became a significant military stronghold during the Napoleonic Wars and remained an important defensive position throughout the 19th century.
