Vyksa, Industrial city in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia

Vyksa stretches along the banks of the Oka River, 186 kilometers southwest of Nizhny Novgorod, encompassing 34 square kilometers of territory.

The settlement emerged in 1501, developing into a significant industrial center after the establishment of metallurgical facilities in the 18th century.

The Art-Ovrag Festival transforms the city into an open-air gallery, combining industrial heritage with contemporary art installations throughout the streets.

The city maintains direct transportation connections to Nizhny Novgorod through regular bus services, with a journey time of approximately three hours.

The world's first double curvature diagrid steel gridshell, constructed in 1897, stands as an engineering achievement within the city limits.
