Tretyakov Gallery, Art gallery in Moscow
The Tretyakov Gallery is the foremost depository of Russian fine art in the world.
Founded in 1856 by merchant Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov, it was later donated to the city of Moscow in 1892.
The gallery's collection consists of more than 130,000 exhibits, ranging from Theotokos of Vladimir and Andrei Rublev's Trinity to the monumental Composition VII by Wassily Kandinsky.
It is located in the historical center of Moscow, near the Kremlin.
The gallery also has a representative branch in Saint Petersburg.
