Mozhginsky District

Mozhginsky District spans across 1,997 square kilometers in the southwestern region of the Udmurt Republic, with the Vala River flowing through its territory.

The district was formally established on July 15, 1929, as part of the administrative restructuring of the Udmurt Republic, marking a new era of local governance.

The population of 28,293 residents represents a mix of ethnicities, with Udmurt people making up 64%, Russians 30%, and Tatars comprising 4% of inhabitants.

The district contains 112 inhabited localities managed through 19 Selsoviets, with the town of Mozhga serving as the administrative center while maintaining separate jurisdiction.

Despite sharing no direct administrative control over Mozhga town, the district encompasses thirteen rural settlements that maintain their individual agricultural and economic activities.
