Yalta Zoo

Yalta Zoo is a private animal park located in Yalta, Ukraine, spread across multiple hectares with paths connecting different sections. Inside you will find hundreds of birds and mammals representing species from tropical and temperate regions around the world.

The zoo opened in the 1990s as a small operation featuring yaks, peacocks, bears, and other animals. It has since grown into a larger facility with more species and better facilities for visitors.

The zoo opens daily and is easy to explore on foot, with paths running through all sections. There are places to buy refreshments along the way, and most visitors spend several hours walking through the entire park.

The zoo became known for breeding rare large cats in ways that rarely happened elsewhere in the region. These breeding successes drew attention from scientists and animal experts interested in preserving endangered species.
