Neptune's fields, Nature reserve in Borgholm Municipality, Sweden
The reserve features a lengthy cobble beach near the Kalmar Strait, with numerous limestone formations and pebbles shaped by centuries of wave erosion.
Carl Linnaeus named the area Neptune's fields during his visit in 1741, marking it as a significant location for botanical studies in northern Europe.
The southern border contains a Viking-era grave field spanning 150 by 30 meters, with 32 stone circles, nine cists, and twelve round cairns.
Visitors can explore marked trails throughout June and July to observe the blue flowering of Echium vulgare plants across the rocky terrain.
The beach contains ancient marine fossils, including preserved remains of trilobites and brachiopods from prehistoric oceanic environments.
