Old Market Hall

The Old Market Hall is an early 20th-century building in central Bratislava that serves as a gathering point for local commerce. The structure with its distinctive green facade houses various vendors and functions as a central shopping destination for the neighborhood.

The building was constructed in 1910 and became the first covered market in Bratislava. It replaced a medieval fortification that had occupied the site since the 15th century.

Glass panels on the exterior of the building reveal preserved walls of the 11th-century St Jacob's Chapel beneath. These archaeological remnants show how different structures occupied this location across the centuries.
