Water tower of Belluš

The water tower of Belluš is a water supply structure in the Trnava district, standing approximately 50 meters tall. It comprises six reinforced concrete pillars supporting a cylindrical tank with a central technical staircase running through its core.

Architect Emil Belluš designed the structure in 1941, with construction completed in 1954 after a lengthy building process. Its completion marked a turning point in the region's water infrastructure development.

The tower became a local landmark that residents recognized as a symbol of progress and modern infrastructure development. Its distinctive silhouette has made it a recurring subject in local photography and artistic representations over the decades.

The tower is visible from the surrounding area and stands notably above nearby buildings due to its height. It can be viewed from the D1 motorway or from within Trnava itself for a clear perspective.

The structure features a special lighting system with eight reflectors that makes it stand out in the night skyline. Four reflectors are positioned beneath the structure while four are located inside, creating a distinctive illuminated appearance after dark.
