Thawi Watthana District

Thawi Watthana is an administrative district in western Bangkok that includes residential neighborhoods alongside commercial and mixed-use areas. The territory is organized through major roads that link it to adjacent districts and the broader metropolitan system.

The district was created from Taling Chan district in 1933 and received its formal administrative status in 1998. This reorganization reflected the city's growth and administrative restructuring of the western metropolitan area.

The district takes its name from Khlong Thawi Watthana, a canal that runs through the area and shapes how people navigate daily life. Locals use this waterway as a key reference point when moving around the neighborhoods.

The district is well connected through major roads, particularly Utthayan Road, which links it to surrounding areas. Visitors can explore both residential and commercial sections depending on their interests and location within the district.

The area is home to Thawi Watthana Palace, a significant royal residence, and Thonburi Market, which traditionally supplies gardening materials and farm products. These two locations reveal the blend of royal importance and local commerce that characterizes this part of the city.
