Wat Phra That Hariphunchai is a Buddhist temple in Lamphun that serves as a major religious site in northern Thailand. The central chedi stands on a square base and rises through several tiers to a golden spire.
King Arthitayarat founded the site in the 11th century after converting his palace for religious use. The complex was expanded and restored several times over the following centuries.
The name comes from Pali and means „sacred relic

A large bronze gong from the 19th century hangs in a separate pavilion near the main hall. Visitors strike it with a soft wooden mallet to pray for good fortune.
