Chiang Mai National Museum

The museum displays an extensive collection of artifacts, traditional garments, and archaeological findings across six dedicated exhibition sections that represent northern Thailand's heritage.

Established by the Fine Arts Department, the museum underwent major renovations in 1996 to enhance its permanent exhibitions covering natural history, archaeology, and Lanna civilization.

The collection includes bronze Buddha images, ancient earthen disciples Buddha molds, and artifacts from the Hariphunchai period dating back to the 17th century.

Located near Wat Chet Yot in northwestern Chiang Mai, the museum welcomes visitors from Wednesday to Sunday between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

The museum preserves the ceremonial coat worn by Major General Prince Kaew Nawarat, who served as the final ruler of the Lanna Kingdom until 1939.
