Phu Chi Fa

Phu Chi Fa is a mountain peak in Chiang Rai Province rising to 1,442 meters, with views stretching across Thailand and into Laos from several vantage points along the trails. The forest surrounds these observation areas, making them natural stops during any visit to the summit.

Hill tribe communities first traced pathways across this mountain as trade routes connecting settlements in Thailand and Laos. These early trails continue to shape how people navigate and experience the landscape today.

The name combines Thai words for mountain and sky, reflecting how the peak sits above the clouds. Local hill communities have shaped the area through their long presence and traditional ways of living in these highlands.

The camping area sits near the park entrance with a short walk from the parking area to reach the grounds. Arriving early gives you time to explore the various viewpoints before the light fades in the afternoon.

From November through February, mornings bring a sea of fog rolling beneath the mountain peaks, creating an effect where clouds appear from below rather than above. This happens because of the elevation and seasonal weather patterns that draw moisture up the slopes.
