Khao Nam Khang National Park

Khao Nam Khang National Park is located in Trang Province and covers a forested landscape dominated by tropical rainforest. The terrain features multiple tree species and orchid varieties spread across hillsides and valleys.

The area held strategic military importance during the Cold War as a regional operational base. This historical period left physical traces that remain visible in parts of the landscape today.

The name means 'dew mountain' in Thai, coming from how moisture collects on the hills during early morning hours. Walking through the forest at dawn, visitors notice this phenomenon firsthand as the vegetation glistens with condensation.

The park can be explored on foot via trails that wind through different forest sections and elevation changes. Visitors should bring weather-appropriate clothing and expect muddy or slippery paths, especially in wetter areas.

A restored historic tunnel runs through the park and now operates as a museum documenting regional military operations. This underground space offers an unexpected glimpse into the area's recent past.
