Beylerbeyi Palace, Ottoman palace in Istanbul, Turkey
Beylerbeyi Palace is an imperial Ottoman summer residence built in the 1860s.
It was the last place of captivity for the deposed sultan Abdulhamid II from 1912 until his death in 1918.
The palace reflects the westernization process in Ottoman Empire with its architecture and interior design.
Today, it serves as a museum open to public visits.
Unlike many other Ottoman palaces, Beylerbeyi Palace was not surrounded by a harem section.
