Zalishchyky

Zalishchyky sits along a bend of the Dniester River at about 179 meters elevation, nestled between steep slopes and surrounded by farming land. The river shapes how the town is positioned and how it looks from different angles.

The first written mention dates back to 1340, and later it received Magdeburg law rights in 1766 under Polish rule, which helped it grow as a trade hub. These rights made it an important place for moving goods across the region.
