Yampil is an urban-type settlement in Shepetivka Raion situated along the Horyn River valley. The settlement lies in western Ukraine and connects to surrounding regional centers by way of Highway H02.
The territory changed ownership in 1535 when local noblemen transferred their feudal lands to a bishop. This transfer marked a turning point in the region's development.
A Jewish cemetery with the grave of Rabbi Yechiel Michel reflects the presence of a Jewish community that once made this place home. The site stands today as a reminder of this past population.
