Lysianka

Lysianka is a small urban settlement in central Ukraine within Cherkasy Oblast. It functions as a local administrative hub and postal center for the surrounding area of Zvenyhorodka Raion.

The settlement first appeared in written records in 1593 and grew as a regional administrative center. In 2020 its administrative status changed when the raion center functions shifted to other communities.

The settlement maintains traditional administrative practices through a local hromada system, which incorporates community participation in regional decision-making processes.

The settlement has a working administrative center that provides basic services to residents and visitors. Postal services and other municipal facilities operate during standard business hours throughout the week.

In 2024 the community experienced a significant reclassification through national legislation. The shift from urban-type to rural settlement status represented an unusual administrative change affecting the region.
