Tyvriv, Settlement in Vinnytsia Oblast, Ukraine.
Tyvriv is an urban-type settlement in Vinnytsia Oblast situated along the Southern Bug River in eastern Podolia, southeast of Vinnytsia. The settlement spreads across terrain at an elevation of 268 meters along the river's course.
The settlement was first documented in 1505 under the Grand Duchy of Lithuania before shifting to Polish-Lithuanian rule in 1569. Ottoman forces took control in 1672, marking a significant change in the region's governance.
The settlement features St. Michael's Church in Baroque style, constructed by Michał Jan Klityński, and an 18th-century palace complex built by Zachariasz Jaroszyński. These structures define the local character and reflect the area's prosperous past.
The settlement is connected through local roads to major highways in Vinnytsia Oblast, providing access to regional centers. Visitors should expect that transportation depends primarily on these local road networks for traveling to and from the area.
In 2024, the settlement underwent a significant administrative shift, transitioning from urban-type classification to rural status as part of new Ukrainian governance reforms. This reclassification reflected broader nationwide efforts to streamline local administrative structures.
