Buky Canyon, Nature complex in Cherkasy Oblast, Ukraine.
The granite canyon extends 2.5 kilometers along the Mountain Tikych River, with gray rock walls rising 30 meters above the water level.
The geological formations within the canyon date back over 2 billion years, making them among the oldest granite structures on the European continent.
The Rodionov Rock within the canyon received its name from Sergei Rodionov, a notable Ukrainian petrographer who studied the geological formations.
The protected area includes 80 hectares of natural territory, offering opportunities for rock climbing and kayaking during high water periods.
The site contains the first hydroelectric power station built in Ukraine, with remnants of the dam still visible near the cascading Vyr waterfall.
