Steve Jobs Monument, Metal monument in historical center of Odesa, Ukraine
The Steve Jobs Monument is a metal sculpture about two meters tall with the Apple logo cut through its center, weighing around 200 kilograms. It stands in front of a college on Novoselskaya Street and serves as a notable metallic art installation in the historical area.
The monument was unveiled on October 5, 2012, marking the first anniversary of Steve Jobs' death. It became the second public memorial dedicated to the tech pioneer worldwide.
The sculpture was created by local artist Kirill Maximenko and symbolizes the link between Ukrainian technological education and global advances in digital innovation.
The monument is lit by white and blue lights at night, making it visible to visitors exploring Novoselskaya Street. This makes it easy to locate even when darkness falls.
The entire structure is made from recycled materials including screws, nuts, bearings, and an ax that have been welded together. These everyday objects combine to form the shape of an open hand.
